I love how they show a guys full name on Baseball-Reference.com, as in: Richmond Lockwood Sexson. Lockwood? Ha. They also often have a player's nickname in parenthesis.
How about: Todd Helton (The Toddfather).
The Toddfather?? WTF? You ever hear someone call him "The Toddfather?" Me neither.

ReplyDeleteI also learned from Baseball Reference.com that Pablo Sandoval, AKA 'Kung Fu Panda' is also known as 'The Round Mound of Pound'. Who knew? Oh, and that Jayson Werth's full name is Jayson Richard Gowan Werth.
Conversely, Joe Mauer does not have a listed nickname, despite his slightly (and only slightly) blasphemous nicknames of 'Baby Jesus' and 'Jesus Christ Superstar' commonly used in the Twin Cities.
