I like the Packers and all, but...

I am a Packer fan. There is no doubt about that. You could say I love the Packers. However, over the last few years, it just does not kill me after a loss like it used to.

Why is this I ask myself. Is it because this is the only local sports team that has won a championship in my lifetime? Is it because it will shut the idiots up at work who think this is the best football team of all time? I actually think that may be part of the reason. Ever since I moved back to Wisconsin 3 years ago, Packer fans have just gotten on my nerves. I just can't stand fat Wanda from West Allis crying about what the Packers do like she knows what is going on. Granted, I don't know entirely what is going on, but I'd like to think I have some educated guesses.

Honestly, a Badger football or basketball loss pains me more. Brewers losses stink, but if you lived or dies with every baseball loss, you would have been in a mental institution a long time ago. Prolonged periods of bad Brewers play do get to me.

Honestly, this post is pretty pointless but since I typed it all up, I figure I'll post it anyway. To make up for the lackluster post, I'll throw up a stupid photo. Yah, Danzig bitches!

  1. I'm 100% with you.

I followed the Packers a lot more closely when I lived out of state. I've had about enough of Green and Gold Fridays and the Packers jean shirts that come with them.

In closing, I don't love the Packers, but I do love lamp.

  2. Good to see you take a tough loss in stride. At least you don't really know true sports agony and futility. I've masochistically cheered for the Lions AND the Gophers each football season for as long as I've remembered. Now that's rough.

For me, I particularly enjoy it when the Pack lose at home. The 'mystique of Lambeau' was killed when Ron Mexico ran wild and knocked you cheddarheads out of the playoffs, yet some still think it is some hyper-advantage to play there. Especially when its 10 below.

  3. I couldn't agree more. The stupid fat ass Packer trash in this state has made me dislike the team. I've been a Packer fan my whole life and now I watch the games and don't even care about the outcome. It's kinda sad.

It's just too much with the Packer Blitz! Super Packer time! Extreme Packer Overtime Blitz! Packer time Action Blizter!

    Way overboard.

  4. Yah, I agree with Clown. That is a big part of it. I can't believe how much Packers coverage there is. It's just insane. I don't need a special Packers sports segment on every newscast.
