Sammy and extra in upcoming Twilight film?

Following up on Emmit’s nasty photo of Sammy Sosa, TIME.com has been surfing the web searching for answers or clues to what the f happened.

Personally I am going with his wife like mine has fallen victim to the new high school girl vampire craze sweeping the nation. He was just trying to get a role in the upcoming Twilight sequel.

“White Skin been berry, berry bad for me.”

DJ How about some Prote-J?

Now I usually leave hip-hop reviews to Goldy but whatever I'm bord at work. Sorry.

Nice story on onmilwaukee.com about the guy who wrote/sings Prince’s at bat theme song. here is a quick look:

OMC: How did you come to do a song about Prince? How did that relationship develop?

Prote-J: Prince is really good friends with my manager, Ben Witherspoon, so that's how we met. In the 2008 season, we went on the road with him and the Brewers. We flew out to San Diego and traveled on the team bus to Los Angeles. That was one of the best weeks I've ever had. I learned more about baseball, I got to know Prince better, I ate chicken and waffles together for the first time, it was crazy. After that trip, Prince wanted me to make an at-bat song for him, and "Heir to the Throne" was born.

OMC: What's it like having the song played at Miller Park and associated with an up-and-coming star like Prince?

Prote-J: It's crazy to think about that many people hearing my song every home game at Miller Park. Prince told me they were also playing the chant at the end of the song, at different parts of the game. But, just having my name next to Prince's is a great feeling. Prince is just a great person and one of the best players in the game. He's a big fan of my music and asking me to make "Heir to the Throne" was his way of helping me get my name out there. I don't get chased through malls or anything yet, but a lot more people know who I am now because of the song. Thanks Prince!

Looks like we have a new song for the opening day tailgate mix! Goldy get on it.

NBA Action...It's Bat-tastic

Manu Ginobli aka batman…

If you haven’t seen this yet it is awesome. Saturday night there was a Bat in the arena and there were several delays.

Manu had, had enough? Check out the video as other players shriek in fear of the bat Manu swats at it with his bare hand and kills it.

Just like back in Argentina I guess.

Random Shoes I Once Wore: Gazzeles

These were classics. I loved these shoes. I still love these shoes but can only find them in black. I digress these shoes were a staple of my wardrobe from freshmen year of high school through mid college a solid 6 year run.

This was right around the time Adidas’s name was rumored to stand for All Day I Dream About Soccer. Unless you went to the public school in town and the (S) stood for sex, allegedly.

They were cheep (relatively speaking) came in multiple colors and were so comfortable it was ridiculous. Now they didn’t offer any support, traction and lacked any durability but I loved um.

You could burn though a pair of these in about a month of good wear. So it was best to own multiple pairs and mix up the rotation. I owned Grey (still my favorite), Blue, Black, Red and I think I had a Port Pirate Green pair at one point.

The more worn in these bad boys became the more comfortable they were. They became more like socks then shoes. The insole foam took the shape of your feet and the swede became softer over time.

My favorite memory comes from the red pair. After I lost them in a high stacks game of between the sheets (cards, get your head out of the gutter) the night prior the big winner was in a minor car crash the next morning. As he laid on the emergency room table his mother noticed his blood red feet and cried hysterically that her boy’s feet were bleeding. Nope. He was wearing his winnings on his way to pick me up for school.

Good times.

Brewers look at 2nd washed-up Cardinal

Mulder to Milwaukee?
By Tom Haudricourt of the Journal Sentinel
Oct. 23, 2009 9:52 a.m.
ESPN's Buster Olney speculates on something in his blog today that makes a whole lot of sense to me -- that lefty Mark Mulder could end up in Milwaukee by next season.
Mulder was coached by Rick Peterson in Oakland and Peterson also helped work on his mechanics this year as Mulder sat out the season while recovering from shoulder surgery. Mulder also pitched for Brewers manager Ken Macha in Oakland.
What Mulder, 32, has left at this point is anyone's guess. I do know the Brewers were interested this year when they heard Mulder might be ready to throw for scouts. Unfortunately, Mulder never progressed to that point, so that idea was put on the shelf.
In any event, Mulder would be looking for a make-good contract which wouldn't cost a lot of money. And, as we all know, the Brewers are in dire need of pitching. It certainly wouldn't hurt to give Mulder a no-risk chance to prove he can still pitch.
So, I'll monitor this and let you know if there's any chance of Mulder joining the Brewers before next season.

To be fair, I kind of like it at the right price. What that is will be interesting to see.

Willis' "Run for the Roses" hulted

MELBOURNE (Reuters) – Australian horse racing officials have been slammed for holding a dwarf racing competition called the 'Midget Cup' at a meeting in Melbourne to promote Victoria state's annual carnival.
The race at the Cranbourne Cup Sunday involved three men charging down a 50-metres course with dwarfs dressed in jockey silks riding piggyback, and has been denounced by government officials and advocacy groups.
"Well look, there's often a fine line between a bit of fun and a silly stunt and I think this falls into the latter category," Victorian racing minister Rob Hulls told state radio.
"I mean the Midget's Cup for goodness sake. It's certainly no way of promoting this great Spring Carnival right around the world, right around Australia and right throughout Victoria."
The controversy comes days after an Australian talent show came under fire for airing a comedy troupe skit involving dancers wearing afro wigs and black-painted faces to impersonate late pop star Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5.
Stuart Laing, a marketing manager at Racing Victoria, said the dwarf race was intended to be "harmless fun," but apologized and said it would not be repeated.
"We understand that you can't please everyone and if anyone's offended by the events of Sunday then we apologize to them," he said.

HELLS BELLS!

First off season piece of the puzzle complete!

Championship Season 2010!

Hoffman deal reportedly done
By Tom Haudricourt of the Journal Sentinel
Oct. 5, 2009 10:49 a.m.
ESPN's Buster Olney is reporting that the Brewers and closer Trevor Hoffman have reached agreement on a deal for 2010 at $8 million with a mutual option for the following season.
As I reported yesterday on the Brewers Blog and this morning in the JS, Hoffman said after the Brewers' final game yesterday that he was close to a new deal with the club. Obviously, that was true.
Hoffman will be 42 soon but showed no signs of slowing down this season, converting 37 of 41 save opportunities and posting a 1.83 ERA in 55 appearances.
I don't know if the Brewers will be announcing this deal or not before their season-ending press conference on Wednesday.

"I HATE that Stinking Gopher"

Ahhh Badger v. Gopher weekend. This game always bring a smile if for only one reason, the annual "I hate that stinking gopher" story comes out.

Wasn't there but still one of my favorite camp Randal stories. Plus this allows me to get rid of the dead badger photo.

Stryker, Murdock your story to tell just thought I would get the ball rolling.

I miss 2008

Not a long post just on my mind. All be it a long and disappointing season for the crew this year it is still sad to know that there will be no more trips to Miller Park this season.

Last year at this time we were in the thick of a glorious playoff push. I will have to go home tonight, crack a miller lite and watch 2008 Brewer blackberry video of the playoffs.

Anyone around PW this week feel free to stop by and share your favorite 08 moment over a cold one.

Wow, for a Bear Fan living in Wisconsin not sure why two of my first three posts made referacne to the Cowboys and cages? Odd.
